Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. Audrey is the largest child in a family of four. Audrey's parents who was both dentists as well as a teacher, understood and supported their daughter's passion for drama and theater at an early stage. The support they provided is more than enough for Audrey to overcome her original goal of becoming a primatologist. The rise of her as an actor in the young age was swift and marked by her early successes. Before she began to pursue the acting profession, Tautou participated in Jeunes Premiers which was a French talent search TV program that was sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. She also won The award for the Best Young Actress for her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer as a young girl and was brought up Catholic. However she is now separating herself from her Catholic upbringing. In addition to her acting work, she also pursued modeling. She modelled in the commercials for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". Apart from her acting career she also has an interest in photography. She recently exhibited some photos during Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. Audrey Tautou's worldwide recognition and popularity exploded after her performance as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin of Amelie Poulain. The popularity of the film has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
